Cookies and similar technologies
The complete list of what this site stores on the reader’s device. It is short.
The cookies this site sets
One only, and it is set only after a login. Anyone reading the portal without an account receives no cookie from this site.

Why there is no banner
Prior consent is required for cookies that are not needed to deliver the service the user asked for: measurement, profiling, advertising. There are none here. The only cookie present keeps the session of someone who has just signed in — that is, does exactly what that person asked for — and therefore needs no consent.
A banner asking permission for something already permitted would train readers to click without reading, and would make the request less credible the day it is genuinely needed. If measurement tools or embedded third-party content are introduced in future, a banner will become necessary and this page will be updated before that happens.
What the site does not do
- no profiling, advertising or audience-measurement cookies;
- no analytics tool installed;
- no share buttons, embedded videos or social network widgets;
- no fonts loaded from external domains: they are served by the application;
- no use of the browser’s local storage or session storage.
Figures hosted elsewhere
Entries translated from other people’s works show illustrations that were not copied onto this site: they stay where they are published. To display them the reader’s browser sends a request to the source site, which therefore receives their IP address and the usual information of a web request. The portal does not tell it which page was being read.
That site is not run by us: opening one of its pages means leaving this portal, and its policies apply rather than these. The reason the figures are not copied is explained on the Licences and attribution page.
Managing cookies in the browser
Every browser lets you inspect, block and delete a site’s cookies. Blocking the session cookie makes it impossible to stay signed in: after login the portal would no longer recognise the reader and the reserved area would be unreachable. Public reading is unaffected, because it uses no cookies.
The rest of the data
What the portal collects beyond cookies — account data, professional profile, verification documents, IP address for rate limiting — is described in the privacy notice. For questions: redazione@example.it.
